Rich Damberg

Rich Damberg has been with the Environmental Protection Agency since 1990. He currently serves as Acting Group Leader for the State and Local Programs Group in the Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards, located in Research Triangle Park, NC. Rich has also been the project lead for PM2.5 NAAQS implementation issues since 2003, and previously was the lead for the regional haze program. Rich has a Master’s degree in environmental policy, planning and management from the University of Michigan; and he has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame.

Beth M. Hassett-Sipple

Ms. Beth Hassett-Sipple has 17 years of experience with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s air programs at both the regional and national levels. She has worked in programs evaluating the health impacts of both criteria and toxic air pollutants. Beth is currently a staff scientist in the Ambient Standards Group in the Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards. She is responsible for managing the current review of the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) for particulate matter (PM). Recently, Beth has been actively engaged in a multi-disciplinary OAR/ORD effort to enhance communication and scientific interactions to prioritize ambient air monitoring needs to provide better support for health research in order to advance our understanding of the impacts of criteria air pollutant exposures. Ms. Hassett-Sipple received a Bachelor of Science in Toxicology from Northeastern University and a Master of Science in Public Health from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.

Dan Kietzer

Dan Kietzer is a Business Development Manager for SICK Process Automation, a leading supplier of CEM and Process Analytical equipment.  Mr. Kietzer has worked for SICK MAIHAK for thirteen years, serving in many rolls including three (3) years as a Regional Sales Manger, four (4) years as Engineering Manager, and three (3) years as a Project Manager.

Mr. Kietzer received a B.A in Physic, with a minor in Mathematics, from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN.

Greg Parrish

Mr. Parrish currently serves as the Chief, PA DEP Bureau of Air Quality Division of Source Testing and Monitoring. The Division uses continuous monitoring and source testing results to verify levels of pollutants emitted into the atmosphere. Continuous monitoring results are used to provide source compliance information on a continuous long-term basis for a limited set of pollutants. Source testing results provide source compliance information on a short-term basis for a wide variety of pollutants. The Division also administers approval and auditing programs for industry and/or consultant performed monitoring and testing. Over thirty years of experience directing and managing a wide range of technical and operational projects with both government and private industry. Graduated with a BS from the Pennsylvania State University with ten years devoted to directing Environmental and Safety Engineering program management in the manufacturing sector. The last 15 years were devoted to environmental program management with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.

Jeremy Whorton

Regional Sales Manager

Jeremy Whorton is a Regional Sales Manager for Thermo Fisher Scientific based in Franklin, Massachusetts, and has been involved with many aspects of the Mercury CEM program since transitioning into the role in early 2005. Mr. Whorton manages Mercury CEM projects from initial installation to final EPA Certification and conducts formal training and informational seminars.

Mr. Whorton has been working with design and installations of Continuous Emissions Monitoring systems for other gases including NOx and SO2 for the past 11 years. He has extensive experience in CEMS design for SCR Ammonia Slip, Total Reduced Sulfur, Cement Kilns, and other compliance monitors.

Mr. Whorton has degrees in Mechanical and Nuclear engineering from Arkansas Tech University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and has an MBA.
