Course Description
This entry-level course presents a broad overview of the major aspects of air pollution control. The lessons include information about pollutants, pollutant sources, effects of pollution, dispersion of pollutants, measurement and control of emissions, laws and regulations pertaining to air pollution control, and other related topics.
Prequisites
This training course is recommended as a background course for all areas of study in the APTI curriculum.
Target Audience
This course is designed for regulatory personnel who are new to the air quality regulatory field. This class is intended for engineers, scientists and technicians who are new personnel in regulatory agencies and will have responsibility for permit review and/or regulatory compliance.

Supported attendees are responsible for al lincidentals and travel. Overnight support is not available to those who live within 50 miles of the course location.
If your agency would like to request alternative support or additional overnight support OTHER than what is listed above, pre-approval is necessary and a request must come from your agency’s Air Director (or their designee) and emailed to MARAMA’s Executive Director, Julie McDill (jmcdill@marama.org), as well as MARAMA’s Training Coordinators, Jackie Burkhardt or Sue Dilli (training@marama.org), prior to the event. A list of what type of support is needed, an estimate of additional costs and the reason for the support is essential to include.
