MARAMA is pleased to announce its first Landfills and Air Quality Workshop, taking place July 28–30, 2025 in a hybrid format in Wilmington, DE. This workshop will provide an overview of landfill regulations, pollutant-specific considerations, and common challenges. We’ll also explore best practices for pollution reduction, monitoring, modeling, permitting, and compliance.
The event will include an in-person site visit to the Cherry Island Landfill, offering participants a valuable opportunity to see landfill operations and management practices firsthand.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This workshop is intended for local/state agency staff within the MARAMA region, specifically those responsible for permitting, monitoring, compliance, and emerging issues associated with landfills. In-person space is limited and will be prioritized for our intended audience, but staff from other regions and areas of work are welcome to join us online if there are any sessions of interest.
