COURSE DESCRIPTION

Effective project management is essential for successfully navigating the complex and evolving landscape of air quality regulatory work. This interactive workshop is designed to equip participants with practical tools and strategies to plan, prioritize, and execute projects with greater confidence and efficiency.

The course addresses common agency-specific challenges, including shifting priorities, staff turnover, EPA review timelines, and public comment periods, while also providing guidance on building realistic and adaptable project timelines. Participants will also explore structured approaches for prioritizing competing workloads and learn how to delegate tasks effectively within chains of command and across divisions.

In addition, the workshop introduces practical project tracking tools, from simple spreadsheets to more advanced software, helping participants select solutions that fit their agency’s needs. By the end of the session, each participant will create a personalized 30/60/90-day action plan to apply these practices to a current project.
