In Search of Extraordinary Administrative Specialist

The Mid-Atlantic Regional Air Management Association, Inc. (MARAMA) is dedicated to strengthening the skills and capabilities of its ten state and local air pollution control member agencies and to help them work together to prevent and reduce air pollution.  

We are currently searching for a Microsoft Office savvy Administrative Specialist to work onsite in our Towson office. Successful candidates will possess excellent customer service and must be outcome-oriented. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail is essential. You will be fully engaged and busy from the first day, and we guarantee there will never be a dull moment.

Requirements

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects with superb accuracy
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills, in-person and over the phone, with members and staff
  • Strong sense of urgency and problem-solving skills
  • Outstanding communication skills, written and oral
  • Excellent time-management
  • Must be able to work Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Position Responsibilities

  • Support staff with general operational tasks
  • Assist in preparation of presentation materials and reports
  • Develop and carry out an efficient documentation and filing system for both paper and electronic records
  • Suggest changes to office task workflow to improve efficiency
  • Manage communication of information in and out of the office
  • Update MARAMA website
  • Monitor and maintain office equipment
  • Troubleshoot or replace malfunctioning equipment and hire technicians when required
  • Monitor office supply levels; reorder when appropriate
  • Ensure office is kept clean and organized at all times

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but 5 + years of administrative experience in a corporate setting will be considered
  • Proficiency in English
  • Must be savvy with today’s technology and computer software, particularly Microsoft Office

MARAMA offers attractive, competitive compensation and benefits including excellent medical and dental; generous paid-leave for sick, vacation and personal use; 401(k) and pension; and casual dress. Salary will depend on skills and experience and will range between $15-$20 hour.
